Why audio books?
We've talked to a lot of "readers" at book fairs, through online polls, and even colleagues in the field, and what we keep hearing is all the great reasons readers are becoming listeners. They like the different voices many good narrators give to various characters. They also like the hands-free convenience of listening to books, which fits beautifully into their daily routines. Many readers have told us they like to listen to books while they walk or enjoy other forms of exercise. Some like to listen to books while they travel or commute. Still others like to listen to books as they do household chores or work on other projects. This didn't surprise us. Many writers tell us they like to brainstorm plots while performing many of these same activities, so it makes perfect sense that they would be a good venue for listening. Well, readers asked for them and we are delivering.
